Real Life Stories of People Just Like You.

Grady

1) Prior to joining the Win180 Producer Success Program, what challenges were you facing?

Prior to joining the Win180 Program, the challenges that I was facing, was just trying to put together a game plan with regards to the amount of production that goes into being a producer. Being able to structure it, schedule it and doing it in a way that is going to provide results. Being able to take a deeper look and a more methodical look at what you are doing on a day to day basis was very challenging.

2) What were your preconceived notions about joining the program? Have they changed, and if so how?

Based on my past experiences with these types of programs, I had my reservations. The types of programs I am use to mainly just regurgitate information from books and manuals, which is not as effective as I would like them to be.

But my perception changed very quickly about the Win180 Program. After meeting Jerry and his team and really understanding the real intent of the program, it shifted my preconceived notion on what I anticipated I would get out of the program to now knowing that I will get great benefit from it!

3) Has the program helped you work through any obstacles that were in your way? If so, how?

The program has helped me by putting structure to my day to day operations and giving me structure both on a mirco level and a macro level. I am now looking at everything I do and how I can improve it which has really helped me and changed my way of thinking about how I want to be a producer.

4) What has been your greatest accomplishment since joining the Win180 Program?

My increased production is obviously a testament to the success of the Win180 program as well as being able to write fairly large accounts also speaks loudly for the program’s success. Beyond the success I have seen in increased production, I feel that having the opportunity to work with a guy like Jerry is the greatest benefit to being a part of the program. The way that he can teach and coach each individual on a personal level where he is able to show me how I will be able to accomplish my goals and having that direct communication is invaluable to me.

5) What do you like most about the Win180 Program?

The thing I like the most about the Win180 Program is that it is unique. It “thinks outside of the box” and challenges people to go against the grain, which is in alignment with the way I think and challenges my mind set.

6) Is there anything else that you would like to share about the Win180 Program?

One thing I would like to share – is if anyone is on the fence with regard to this program, this is the type of a program that is unique in the since that it unifies its members and brings them in a team environment where they can bounce ideas off of each other while at the same time learn from someone like Jerry who has had extreme success in the industry. For me personally I just don’t see that anywhere else in the market place being able to tap into that type of environment and being able to learn those types of sale strategies.

1) Prior to joining the Win180 Producer Success Program, what challenges were you facing?

Organization was a big a big challenge; the concept of finding a prospect, doing the research on it, getting in front of the prospect and then keeping staff in line and keeping yourself in line through the closing process of that prospect was a lot to focus on.  I was always good, or at least I felt I was good at parts of it at a time and then really bad at other times. So the organization of finding the prospect,  getting in front of the prospect and then getting to the point of closing them in a smooth, consistent manner is something that I have had quite a bit of help with from the Win180 program.

2) What were your preconceived notions about joining the program? Now that you are in the middle of your second Quarter in the program, have they changed, and if so how?

Initially, I thought that it was going to be a waste of time primarily. I assumed that I would go to a class and then put whatever I received from the class on a shelf and never look at it again. But my preconceived thoughts have changed very much – I have had a very successful year – in the kinds of accounts that I have written and the size of accounts that I have written. I have been coached to not just look for large accounts but look for the right accounts. Because of that, the accounts that I have written this year have been very right! I mean they been the exact kinds of accounts that I have always wanted to write. The number of accounts that I have on my book is probably down 33% and my volume is UP 33%! My accounts and revenue is something that I am looking at and carrying with me every day now. I have always thought about how the number of accounts that I carry will affect my ability to write more business and the volume I am able to carry, but because of the Win180 program it’s been really highlighted and reinforced. Something that I am always thinking about and now improving.

3) Has the program helped you work through any obstacles that were in your way? If so, how?

Organization and self-confidence are probably the biggest obstacles. Self-confidence applies in a lot of different ways. You can lack confidence to get in front of a group. You can lack confidence to instruct your staff the way that you need to consistently. You can lack confidence to get in front of a new account that may be outside of your comfort zone.  Or one-on-ones with accounts. Self-confidence applies in a lot of different areas and I have been able to understand that better over the last 2 quarters and address that in all the different areas that I need to. It might sound funny but the biggest one is with my staff. Understanding my staff understanding what they need to be doing and when they need to be doing it as well as understanding my role on the team. It’s not something that we have talked a lot about in the group yet, but it’s something in my one-on-one coaching sessions with the Win180 staff that comes up all the time. How do I need to conduct myself in front of my staff and what they need to be doing to allow me to be doing what I am good at. It has been very beneficial.

4) What has been your greatest accomplishment since joining the Win180 Program?

I have had a few really good accomplishments – oddly enough I did a planning session with a client who I have been doing business with for about 7 years. The younger generation (mid 30s) is looking to purchase the company from the owners. Prior to the meeting, I met with Win180 and planned how the day was going to flow. I ended up doing a planning session with the client that was a marathon. It was about 6-7 hours long. Jerry had lunch with us that day and took the clients through a process that we learn in the Win180 program that helps the clients get clearer on their goals. We went through financial training with them as well as performance and payment bonds that I write. We brought in an HR specialist to help them with some addition issues as well. We then tied everything that we wanted to do for them into what they wanted to accomplish over the next three years. It was a really good session and it was my greatest accomplishment in the last 6 months by far. But it opened up a really big challenge in what do I do with the information now and how do I keep it in front of them. How do I really help them accomplish what they need to accomplish over the next three years, which is what the Win180 program is coaching me through.

5) What do you like most about the Win180 Program?

I like that the Win180 program is something regular. That it is planning and it is in front of me. I like that we are talking about the business of the business. It goes over organizing, calling, what you say when you get in front of a client, how you exploit your agency’s talents. The insurance and bond products are something that we talk about and are educated on by our agency, and have been for the last 10 years. The Win180 program gives me the opportunity to talk about my book of business and strategic planning around managing my book, the size of my book, where I want it to go, the number of accounts I want to have. I don’t want to write anything and everything or have headaches. I don’t want to be working for 70 hours a week. That kind of stuff is what I like most about the program so far.

6) Is there anything else that you would like to share about the Win180 Program?

I like what I hear about the program going forward on what’s to come in the future and the next steps are after we get the basics down. I like that they have listened to their clients and plan on having the tools more web based which will allow me to organize my stuff faster, more fluidly and more consistently. It will help keep it in front of me. I am looking forward to the next meeting and that it is going to help me plan for the upcoming quarters and next year. I look forward to this because it’s an opportunity to plan for who I want to approach and what business I want to write instead of just call, call, call or just go see whoever, but to be more targeted and be more organized. The program helps me do that.
