I wanted to say “Hello from Sunny California!” I am in Los Angeles, California at Bo Eason’s Intrepid event feeling extremely energized and grateful to be here with so many other great minds! I wanted to share a few thoughts that being here brings to mind. But first, let me set the stage so you understand where the inspiration is being pulled from. Bo Eason is a former NFL standout, acclaimed Broadway playwright and performer, and international presence/story coach. His background and experience is diverse and rich which he is so graciously sharing now through coaching on the power of your own personal story.
The most inspirational leaders, coaches, speakers, and writers are great storytellers! They are able to share a message about the “how” through the “why”. They build an emotional connection versus preaching or purely educating based on their personal knowledge and experience. They are able to entertain and inspire. One of my favorite sayings is “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou. Bo Eason teaches how to take life events and experiences from basic historical facts and turn them into engaging stories.
I must admit that I was skeptical of the “power of ‘storytelling’”, but since I have had the opportunity to work with Bo over the last few years, I have personally seen the impact that it has on developing great relationships and now having the capability to positively affect others around me.
